Following from their packed headline show at Norwich Waterfront back in December, Call It Reckless are playing two headline shows in one day at Open on Castle Meadow in the centre of Norwich.
So far this year Call It Reckless have recorded with top producer Romesh Dodangoda (FFAF, KIGH, Motorhead etc) and released their debut single ‘Worry About You’. These two show give the first chance to see Call It Reckless in Norwich, since they supported Army Of Freshmen in April, and the first chance for younger fans to catch the band, thanks to a specially added lunchtime all ages show.
At the all ages gig, they are supported by Freyr who formed in mid-2012, and began writing and recording with plans to gig in early 2013. Drawing influences from Jimmy Eat World, Mae, Paramore and other bands in the genre, Freyr are aiming to create catchy songs with a powerful live performance. Check out Forrest Fires below.
The evening over 18 show features support from Avosetta and Go.Fly.Win.
Avosetta are a unique Rock/Alternative outfit who exploded out of rural Norfolk to share stages with the likes of Biffy Clyro, Foals and Rolo Tomassi in 2010. Unrestricted by genre conventions, the band defines themselves as a melodic fusion of pop and rock. Influences such as big, 80′s power ballads right through to cutting edge rock shine through alongside their own fresh, dynamic approach to both melody and songwriting.
Avosetta featured on national television as winners of Channel 4’s Evo Music Rooms – an unsigned music competition presented by Radio One’s Edith Bowman – and recorded a number of songs with producer Dan Weller (Young Guns, Enter Shikari, In Colour). They then released a music video for lead song ‘Wait Your Turn’, and attracted enough attention to get a slot at Download 2012 and the track ‘Meltdown’ featured on the Metal Hammer cover cd along with radio play.
2013 has seen Avosetta perform acoustically at Download 2013 and embark on their first UK tour in July.
Go.Fly.Win are set to release their Debut EP ‘DEVICES’, which was recorded at Hidden track studios (feed the rhino/mallory knox etc). After taking the early half of the year off to hone themselves, Go.Fly.Win are set to take the local scene back by storm. The band have been performing live extensively, sharing the stage with such acts as: Mallory Knox, Hildamay, Polar, Hey! Alaska, Schloars and more. Check out they new single O’Icarus:
