The Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour 2009 returns with another fantastic line up, including Mindless Self Indulgence, Bring Me The Horizon, Black Tide, In Case Of Fire and Dir en grey.
Black Tide (pictured)
Black Tide may be the most explosive thing to happen to music since hard rock and heavy metal transformed the face of popular culture in the mid-‘80s. The Miami-based band creates a fresh sound by taking musical hints from classic metal, to Motley Crue inspired rock ‘n’ roll, creating a punk rock spirit and a virtuosity to be reckoned with. Their infectious youthful energy (all band members are under 20) has been working to their advantage, attracting younger and more energetic audiences around the globe.
In Case Of Fire
A heady mix of Muse, QOTSA and Mars Volta style rock and ambition, the track opens with a pounding, foreboding skeletal rhythm before bursting into life with menace, melody and the chorus vocal refrain ‘I am making fires now for you’. Consisting of brothers Colin (drums) and Steven Robinson (guitars, vocals) and completed by Mark Williamson (bass), In Case Of Fire will see their debut album ‘Align the Planets’ set for release in Jan/Feb 09 (exact date TBC).
As well as completing their debut album ‘Align the Planets’ with producer Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Echo and the Bunnymen) the band have already spent 2008 touring with 30 Seconds to Mars, Queens of the Stone Age, playing shows with the likes of Kids in Glass Houses, Ash and Biffy Clyro, as well as performances at Download, Oxygen, T in the Park, Rock Am Park and Ring (Germany) and the Reading and Leeds festivals. The band have also won an MTV2 ‘Spanking New’ competition, beating the likes of Adele, Foals, Black Kids and Likke Li to the viewer’s choice of bands to watch out for in 2008!
